Pink Cancer RibbonSadly there are 41,000 Deaths From Breast Cancer Each Year in the United States!

Every OCTOBER pink ribbons can be seen virtually everywhere!  It’s the very successful symbol of Breast Cancer Awareness month.  Their main goal is for EARLY DETECTION of this horrific disease that claims 214,000 new victims each year.  Billboards, buses and park benches wear them... Major League Sports Teams wear pink...even Airplanes don this fashion statement!  ALL of these awareness campaigns are powerful and effective efforts to encourage early detection of Breast Cancer… BUT WE COULD DO MORE!  MUCH MORE!!

It's obvious to me that IF I HAVE THE CHANCE to possibly prevent health issues instead of detecting them (no matter how early) that would be an infinitely better course of action to take!!

I recently read about the subject of Vitamin D research and admittedly I became obsessed with the topic!  ALL I can say is...OMG(gosh)!!

STUNNING, OVERWHELMING, ASTOUNDING are not overstating the feeling you get when you look at the shear volumes of recent medical research and the potential ramifications ..... IF PEOPLE ONLY KNEW ABOUT IT!!

Multiple Clinical Studies conclude that RAISING the Vitamin D level in the body could result in REDUCING the Incidence and Death Rate of Breast Cancer in the U.S. by 35% to 80%!

A 2008 study found that women who had a Vitamin D deficiency at the time they were diagnosed with breast cancer were 94% more likely to have their cancer spread than women with adequate vitamin D levels in their bodies!!!

(These are just two of dozens of statements/studies I could have referenced!!) WOW! Could you imagine the excitement that would result if a DRUG were invented that yielded such preventable results?!

Yet we hear virtually nothing because the answer comes in an $8 bottle!! (Or even FREE with sensible sun light exposure, although seasonal and with concerns of unwanted side effects!)

Here is another study:

Vitamin D to Prevent Breast Cancer, The Journal of Steroid Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, Volume 103, Issue 3-5, March 2007, Pages 708-711

"Intake of 2,000 IU/day of Vitamin D3, and, when possible, very moderate exposure to sunlight, could raise serum 25(OH)D to 52 ng/ml, a level associated with reduction by 50% in incidence of breast cancer"

Intake of 5,000 IU/day Vitamin D further reduces risk by 80%!

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and support it by wearing a pink ribbon...AND THEN, November through September, PLEASE TELL EVERYONE about the EARLY PREVENTION potential of Vitamin D research!

Are you getting enough Vitamin D?   You can use this tool to help you decide.
